About La Casa del Chimi Restaurant

La Mejor comida latina de la ciudad.

La Casa del Chimi Restaurant is one of the dominican restaurant listed in Reading, Pennsylvania. The business is registered at 402 Franklin St, Reading, PA 19602; use this page to check its hours, phone number and Google rating before you make the trip.

This group holds listings that did not fit cleanly into a food or drink category, mostly businesses that were pulled in alongside a restaurant in the same shopping plaza or that combine several kinds of service, such as a market with an attached clinic or a strip-mall unit that also does phone repair or tax preparation. The details here come from the public listing rather than a curated food write-up, so treat the category label loosely and check the business's own hours and services before visiting. Some of these are legitimate neighbors of the food businesses on this site, such as a nail salon or a laundromat in the same strip mall, while others are simply miscategorized on the source data and worth a quick call to confirm what they actually offer.

Hours are published for 2 days a week. The most common schedule is 8 AM–12 AM. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (610) 373-1670. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, casadelchimi.com.

Reading is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Reading is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Pennsylvania's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Food taste great but there's an off feeling when you step up and you don't respond in Spanish. I don't eat here often because of that. When I really need a change, I will send my son here.

The food experience was decent overall, but it didn’t fully live up to expectations. The atmosphere was nice and the place itself was clean and comfortable, which made the experience enjoyable to a certain extent. The food itself was okay β€” some dishes were good while others felt a bit underwhelming for the price. The presentation looked nice, but the flavor and overall quality could definitely be more consistent. One thing that stood out to me was the customer service. While some staff members were polite, others came across a bit rude or uninterested, especially during busy hours. Service was also slower than expected at times, which affected the overall experience. I wouldn’t say it was a bad experience, just not one that really stood out in a positive way. The place has potential, but improving the consistency of both the food and customer service would make a big difference.

Service is always good, unfortunately the food this time was not. I took one start because of the Sancocho I ordered. They charge me 16 dollars for it and I couldn't even eat it. The meat was full of fat and they only veggie was something called "Γ‘ame" which is my least favorite of all. My girlfriend tried it as well and said "this is not sancocho" I don't even know what the heck they gave me. The time before this one the food was good but they forgot one of the 4 meals I ordered. Not sure about coming back.

Update: they have remodeled the place and the food has been getting better. They are trying to answer the phone more often. Some of their food is good, some not as much. Those who really know about good Hispanic food can tell the difference. I would recomend the picalonga and the mofongo with shrimps. nothing else there is good. I must mention they barely answer the phone and the food is also pricey considering the location, the quality and the quantity served. overall, go there only if there's no where else to eat Hispanic food.

Really guys?! An hour waiting for delivery and by the waiting time the food arrived was cold. Fried plantains are cold and hard without salt, and the service should have a mayoketchup but nothing. Thanks for making my friends experience HORRIBLE as the food! Attitude and service POOOOOOOR. You DON'T sell Dominicans Chimi. You guys sell hot sandwiches. The ribs were HARD, and the fried plantains weren't good at ALL. The mangu with the 3 strikes SALTY and OILY... 0 and, 0, AND 0 AGAIN!!!
